I'm a big fan of the Canadian Football League,
something which is mostly popular in Western Canada. I cheer for
the Winnipeg Blue
Bombers, but love the sport in general. To the uninitiated it's
a strange version of American Football. But to the faithful, it's a
faster, more entertaining sport, one with a passionate
following.
Main Differences
There are plenty of differences between the two leagues, but I'll try to highlight the main differences in the right-hand column. Consider it a primer for the uninitiated!

Three Downs - That's right, there
are three downs to move the ball 10 yards. This means that sides
change far, far more frequently than in the NFL.
Bigger Field - Not only are there fewer chances, but the field is 10 yards longer, and 20 yards wider.
12 men on the field - At any time, there are twelve players on the field per side. Many of them can be in motion prior to the snap. It's a more chaotic, but a lot of fun!
The rouge - A field goal (or punt) that sails through the endzone is worth a single point. Basically, you can get one for trying.
Of course there are many, many other rule differences, but these are the ones that I opt to focus on.
